Aalborg Maritime Museum offers a great day out for those interested in the history of seafaring. It is possible to climb aboard and experience the conditions inside a real submarine or a torpedo boat. The museum has an extensive collection of model ships. It is spread over 15,000 square metres of ship yard and boast among its collection the yacht in which Queen Margrethe learnt to sail. It has cafeteria and picnic facilities. Guided tours are offered in English.
