Dalum Church is sited to the south of the city, on the banks of the Odense river. The church’s history goes back 800 years when nuns following the rule of St. Benedict moved their convent here. The church originally served this religious house. A recent renovation revealed traces of the original cloister. Following the Reformation the church fell into severe disrepair. In the 1920s, however, it was thoroughly restored and partially rebuilt by the Royal surveyor.
