The commemorative wall for Christiern Pedersen lies in the heart of the town of Helsinge, by the central town park area. It is a delightful landmark that is the focus of much local activity. It was erected in the 1950s. Christiern Pedersen was a scholar and editor of Saxon texts. His primary claim to fame was as the first official translator of the Bible into the Danish vernacular. The 1550 edition is on display in Helsinge Church. Pedersen spent the last ten years of his life in the town.
