Christian VII’s palace is one of the buildings that make up Amalienborg and is primarily used as a guest residence for visiting foreign royalty and heads of state. However, during high season, guided tours of this extraordinary building are conducted in English. The palace, originally built in the 1750s, is perhaps most notable for its magnificent Great Hall which is one of the finest examples of a rococo room in Denmark. The exterior has been extensively restored to great acclaim.
