The Carlsberg Museum is housed close to the old Carlsberg brewery, which contains the new visitor centre. The museum was founded in the nineteenth century and has a beautiful interior. It chronicles the history of the founding family, the Jacobsens, who have had a huge impact on the economy of the city. The Jacobsens were also great philanthropists, which is a strong tradition among Danish industrialists, and continue, through the Carlsberg foundation, to devote huge sums of money to education and fine arts. This is the place to find out more about this fascinating family.
