This church is situated some distance to the west of central Copenhagen, in what is now effectively a suburb of the expanded city. However, it was once a village, and this church served it. The church’s origins lie in the distant past; parts of it date from the early thirteenth century. It has been modified as the population of the area has increased, most significantly in 1885. Therefore late Victorian architecture competes for the visitor’s attention with medieval frescoes. The area is accessible by S-train - there is a station nearby.
