The Assistens Cemetery is one of Copenhagen’s chief burial grounds. It is a municipal facility with plots devoted to the various major churches in the inner city, which do not have their own graveyards. Among the famous people buried here are Søren Kierkegaard, Regine Olsen, Hans Christian Andersen and the physicist Niels Bohr. There is a map at the entrance showing where the various graves lie. The chapel is used for regular exhibitions relating to the history of the place and the people buried here.
