ARKEN is a stunning modern art gallery situated to the south of central Copenhagen. The striking building is designed to be reminiscent of a boat’s sail and was created by architect Søren Robert Lund. It lies on the edge of Køge bay. The collection is particularly, though not exclusively, concentrated on Danish and Nordic art, and on contemporary work. Free guided tours are conducted at certain times; if these are not available, the museum lends out audio guides to lead you around the collection.
