AQUA is an innovative and exciting modern aquarium located in Silkeborg. It is a major attraction that has been awarded coveted four-star status by the Danish tourist authorities. It was opened in 1993 and is exclusively freshwater. It is highly unusual in that the visitor centres are actually located underwater within a series of lakes. You can watch otters, pike, herons and grebes, both above and below the water. The centre offers special activities for children including a “touch pool”.
