Albøge Church lies a few miles to the west of Grenaa, deep in the Djursland countryside. The church has a long history. It originated as a Romanesque church in the thirteenth century, but was essentially rebuilt in the Gothic "long house" style in the early sixteenth century. It was substantially restored in 1990. The interior contains many beautiful objects. These include the seventeenth century pulpit and a Renaissance altarpiece. The church has several fine paintings as well as copy of Christian III’s bible from 1550, the oldest Danish translation.
