The Aalborg Historical Museum is one of Aalborg’s most visited, and has been awarded two stars by the Danish tourist authorities. It concentrates especially on the period of Aalborg’s greatest wealth and significance – the seventeenth century. The Renaissance room, which preserves in detail the opulent surroundings a high bourgeois family would have enjoyed around 1600, is particularly impressive. Those interested in locally produced craftwork, such as glass and silverware will find these well represented.
